Bluestacks is a reliable android emulator, which helps to install whatsapp for PC, so you can safely use it. While there are other methods to install whatsapp without bluestacks but this video covers only the method that used bluestacks.
My operating system is windows 7, The process to download whatsapp on PC, works equally well on windows XP/ 7 / 8 / Vistas as well.

You need to download Bluestacks to install whatsapp on your Computer.
You will need to be bit patient in this process as the size of download file is 140 MB, download can take between 15 to 20 minutes depending upon your internet speed.
During the process, you may be asked to upgrade your graphic cards, which can take some time, you need to be bit patient for this one time process. If your system is not updated then without graphic cards it will not be possible to install bluestacks.
After the download is complete, you will need to install bluestacks, which should not take much time. Once installation is complete, you will need to search for whatsapp, the application is not available with Bluestacks, So you will find a link of Google play store, click on the same and search for whatsapp.
For the process to go on, enter your Google account details, It will open the play store, search for whatsapp, in all probability you will not find it there. Click on the play store option and search for whatsapp there. It will show you result of whatsapp messenger.
You need to install it, Once it is done, It will ask you to verify your phone number, There are two options SMS or call, First you will be shown the SMS option, which will fail because it is for mobile users. Then you need to follow the call option. For installation on your computer "call me" option works.
You will instantly receive a call, which will mention the code, enter it to verify.
